According to the investigation by Johnny Vedmore, Klaus Schwab's grandfather, Gottfried Schwab, emigrated from Germany to Switzerland in 1893 and later returned to Karlsruhe, where he worked as a machine engineer. Eugen Schwab, Klaus's father, followed in his footsteps and became a prominent figure in the Escher Wyss company, which was designated a 'National Socialist Model Company' during World War II.
It details how Escher Wyss collaborated with Nazi Germany, producing weapons and utilizing forced labor, including prisoners of war from various countries. After the war, Klaus Schwab pursued higher education in engineering and economics, eventually joining Sulzer Escher Wyss AG, where he played a key role in its reorganization and merger.
